Jim Steele
Co-founder · Principal · Merchant Services

Jim Steele runs the merchant-services side of Steele Solutions out of Branson, Missouri. After graduating Indiana University with a degree in business, Jim spent his early career inside the banking system, earning President's Club at First National Bank of Omaha by consistently delivering exceptional service to small business clients. That bank-side perspective gave Jim something most processors do not have — direct experience with how small businesses actually use their statements, where the hidden fees hide, and how to architect a payments stack that works for the owner instead of the agent. Jim is also a National Account Executive with CSSI (Cost Segregation Services, LLC), the national leader in engineering-based cost segregation studies, which gives Steele Solutions the rare ability to bundle merchant services with a tax-savings tool typically reserved for clients of large CPA firms.

Kim Steele
Co-founder · Principal · Operations and Client Care

Kim Steele runs operations and client care at Steele Solutions. Every client onboarded by Steele Solutions goes through Kim — paperwork, equipment delivery, statement walk-throughs, and the ongoing relationship that turns a one-time install into a multi-year partnership. Kim's role on the operational side is the reason Steele Solutions is referred so often by existing clients: when something needs an answer at 9pm because a card-reader will not boot, the call goes to Kim and the answer comes back fast. Kim is the named operational principal on the ATM Placements line of business and the primary point of contact for new merchant onboarding.

How we work

Five service lines, one phone call.

Most merchant brokers sell one thing. We brokered five because every small business needs all of them at some point, and a single point of contact who already knows your business beats a different sales rep for every line. The phone is answered by Jim or Kim. Always.

  1. Send your statement — current merchant processor statement. We read it line by line.
  2. Free written audit — within 2 business days, in plain English, every fee marked.
  3. Honest recommendation — we tell you whether a switch helps the math, or whether to keep what you have.
  4. If we move, we move clean — equipment placement by Kim, processing setup matched to your business, no contract lock-in.
  5. Then the rest of the stack — ATM, lending, CSSI as your business grows into them.

How Steele Solutions actually works as a family business

The "family run" framing on the home page is accurate but doesn't say much about operations. Here is how the husband-and-wife model actually shows up day-to-day.

The division of labor

Jim runs the statement audits, the processor strategy, the lending packaging, and the CSSI cost-segregation engagements. Kim runs the ATM placement program, the client onboarding, and the operations side. Each owns their territory; we don't hand-off mid-engagement.

Why this isn't a marketing pose

A husband-and-wife business has two failure modes: too much overlap (both doing the same job badly) and too little overlap (one spouse owns everything and the other is "support"). Steele Solutions runs with sharp territorial division — Jim doesn't dispatch ATM hardware and Kim doesn't read merchant statements. When clients call, they know who to ask for.

The relationship economics

We are paid on residuals by processors and lenders. The residual structure means we are paid the same whether your contract is one year or ten, which removes the incentive to lock you in. The same residual structure means you are valuable to us as a relationship over years, not as a one-time commission. We organize around that.

What being independent means in practice

We are not employees of any processor, bank, or lender. There is no quota. There is no "preferred processor of the month" that we are paid extra to push. When you send in a statement, the recommendation comes from the statement, not from our incentive structure.

The Branson grounding

Steele Solutions is based in Branson because we live in Branson. The community-network economics are real — clients know each other, talk to each other, and refer each other. That is the only marketing channel we have invested in. It works because we earn referrals one engagement at a time.
